Remembrance Day Sing-A-Long

In the weeks leading up to Remembrance Day we had several sessions looking at wartime reminiscence and collecting stories from the residents.
Our art group put together a collage of wartime images. They also made some large poppies, which were added with individual stories to our collages. On the day we watched the morning service on television with everyone honoring the 2 minute silence.
After lunch we served drinks and nibbles and enjoyed singing wartime songs and dancing in Gryffe’s dining room which was decorated with union jack bunting and the collage canvases. Sheila said she thought the canvases looked really good, while Moira really enjoyed dancing and Ian thought it was a great afternoon.
Gone but never forgotten.
