Lillyburn residents were delighted to meet some of their furry friends from Bunny & Co petting zoo. The petting zoo has been visiting Lillyburn for a number of years now and residents have become very fond of the friendly animals.
Bunny & Co have a wide range of animals such as ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, white rats and an adorable pet mouse. Those who run the petting zoo are always friendly and are very knowledgeable when answering questions from the residents and staff.
Pet therapy has proved to be a great way for residents to express their views and help improve their sociability and interaction. Jean is very fond of animals and is often heard reminiscing about her two beloved dogs who she misses very much. Jean finds spending time with the animals therapeutic and really enjoys feeding the guinea pigs.
Everyone has the opportunity to pet, feed and hold any of the animals. Resident Edith responded well to the pet therapy saying “it’s great to have a chance to spend time with such a variety of small animals, I hope they come back again soon”.
