Nutrition & Hydration Week 2018
Posted by Lillyburn Care Home
Lillyburn Care Home took part in Nutrition and Hydration Week to raise awareness of the importance of nutrition and hydration as an essential element of care. The national week is all about creating a global movement to reinforce and focus energy, activity and engagement on nutrition and hydration as an important part of quality care, experience and safety improvements in health and social care settings
Lillyburn Care Home invited Craighead School to take part in a nutrition and hydration quiz with our residents. John, Head Chef, was responsible for asking the questions, all of which promoted conversation about the importance of healthy living. John commented “It was great to see the children working alongside our residents, discussing our how our nutrition needs change as we age”.
A few weeks ago, Lillyburn had also asked Craighead’s Primary 6 class to design posters which represented what it means to eat well and keep hydrated. The children worked very hard on the posters and residents will be judging the posters next week with prizes to be presented to the winners at the school.
