Teaching Children To Knit
Posted by Stanely Park Care Home
Residents recently enjoyed a visit to Kibble School in Paisley where they took part in intergenerational skill sharing with the schoolchildren. Ladies from Stanely Park happily taught the children how to knit and crochet.
A good old-fashioned sing-along was had while they knitted, the most popular songs being old war songs such as “We’ll Meet Again” and “Show Me The Way To Go Home”. The event was a great way for both our residents and the children to learn how different their childhoods were.
Freda and Lisa were seen sharing a laugh together as they knitted. “It’s great to hear laughter in the home, we encourage the meetings of children and our residents, there is always a fun time to be had!” says Care Home Manager Sue Kedley.
