Around The World In 5 Days

Birdston Care Home residents recently travelled around the world in 5 days, without leaving the comfort of the care home. Our talented Chef Aidan and his team of kitchen staff treated the residents to a sample of culinary delights from around the globe, starting at home in Scotland with haggis neeps and tatties, and ending the week with a spicy curry all the way from India.
Residents also pitted their wits against each other (and the staff) in quizzes relating to each country, and enjoyed some folk songs from each of the countries celebrated.
Resident Dorothy said “I really enjoyed having the opportunity to sample dishes from Ireland, USA, Italy and not forgetting our own Scottish cuisine.”
