When Susan Higgins visited her Dad Charlie in Stanely Park, she would often sit in the sunroom with him and the other residents and listen to the “banter“ that was had. This inspired her to write her book about our residents and the antics going on at Stanely Park Care Home.
Once the visiting restrictions of COVID began the usual fundraising activities for the home became restricted so Susan kindly organised for her book to be printed and to sell to families with the aim to raise funds for the home.
Following the success of the sales, Stanely Park has received £450 donation towards their resident funds. A wonderful achievement and one that is much appreciated.
Alzheimer Scotland have since contacted Susan will upload the book onto their website as a downloadable resource which will then help hopefully assist towards their fundraising as well.
