Next week marks an exciting event in the care sector calendar - Care Home Open Week. Led by Championing Social Care, this initiative aims to forge meaningful connections between care homes, residents, care professionals, and local communities. As part of this nationwide celebration, Pacific Care’s four care homes are eagerly opening their doors to showcase the exceptional care we provide and foster stronger community ties.
Connecting Care Homes and Communities
At Pacific Care, we have always believed in the importance of community engagement. Throughout the year, we actively involve families, local groups, and neighbours in our residents' lives. Care Home Open Week allows us to extend this connection even further. By inviting the local community to visit, we hope to foster mutual understanding, break down stigmas associated with care homes, and showcase the positive impact our dedicated staff has on the lives of our residents.
Exciting Activities
During Care Home Open Week, we have a host of engaging activities planned to entertain and delight our visitors. To kick off the festivities, our activities team at Mosswood have been working hard to pull together a summer fete, which will welcome residents’ families, members of the local community and other care home groups to enjoy a festive day of raffles, BBQs and plenty of tasty treats! Over at Lillyburn, residents and their families can look forward to singing their hearts out alongside a brilliant entertainer, while Stanely Park has organised delightful tea party, where guests can enjoy tasty treats and engaging conversations with residents and staff. These activities are designed to create a vibrant and inclusive environment, encouraging our visitors to forge meaningful connections with our residents and discover the warm and nurturing atmosphere that defines our care homes.
Open Doors All Year Round
While Care Home Open Week is an annual celebration, our care homes remain open to the local community throughout the year. We strongly believe in fostering strong bonds locally. Regular events, open days, and community involvement are part of our commitment to enriching the lives of our residents and connecting with the wider community.
