Birdston Day Care Welcomes Cohort of Service Users from Milan Day Care Centre
Birdston Day Care has opened its doors to a group of new service users, formerly part of the Milan Day Care Centre. Sadly, the closure of Milan, a cherished facility catering to elderly individuals from ethnic minority groups, necessitated a significant transition for its members. Yet, amidst these changes, Birdston Day Care stands ready to offer support and a warm welcome to those who now call it their home-from-home.
The arrival of our new service users has been met with warmth from both staff and existing members of our community. Despite the challenges of adapting to a new environment, everyone has settled in remarkably well, quickly becoming integral parts of our vibrant community.
It has been fantastic witnessing the enthusiasm with which our new members have embraced the activities and opportunities available at Birdston Day Care. From fitness classes to quizzes, they have eagerly participated in a wide range of activities.
Crucially, our new service users have not only adapted to their new surroundings but have also provided feedback to our staff, offering invaluable input on how best to facilitate a smooth transition for everyone involved. Their feedback, particularly regarding food choices and cultural preferences, has been instrumental in ensuring that we create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
